This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are eager, enthusiastic and kind! They love to work hard to learn new things. They are very curious and full of energy.
Some of my students receive a food backpack for the weekends to combat hunger.
Many of them are learning English as a second language.
They all come to school everyday ready to learn, play and create!
My students work up a big appetite! They receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Inconsistently, the cafeteria provides a snack. On the days that snacks are provided my students gobble them up! The days that snacks are not provided result in disappointed, hungry kids.
I’m requesting snacks such as popcorn and high protein trail mixes to fuel my students’ appetites on the days that they do not receive a snack.
Thank you so much for reading about ways to help my students curb their appetites so they can focus on learning!
