This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first graders are little people full of energy and enthusiasm to learn each day! They are curious and willing to try new things. Unfortunately due to their economic status and neighborhood they live in, their opportunities to try new things are limited.
They live in a high poverty community where they struggle to get their needs met and most of the time their educational needs are put aside.
They deserve a high quality education and classroom. They deserve to get all the supplies and resources to foster their learning each day.
My Project
The supplies needed in my classroom will help engage the students in their daily learning. They will be able to work independently, with a partner or with a group.
Having these supplies at hand in the classroom can ease the hardship of all the students that can not afford what is needed.
Their learning can be challenged and differentiated with the supplies such as dry erase markers for center-work practice, chart paper for explicit explanation of math problems or word study, and copy paper to be able to work and print efficiently. Our school lost part of our budget due to the state funding and these supplies will not be provided. As teachers we use and save all our resources year after year. With the help of the laminating roll for our laminating machine, we can still provide educational resources for our students because it is saved and recycled for the upcoming year. I want to serve as a provider for my students!
