My Project
Teaching is not a job or a career for me. Teaching is my passion. My students teach me new things on a daily basis. Each and every student deserves the very best and with your help I can give them so much more to assist them in achieving their very best.
My students are your average 5th graders.
They are mostly from middle class families. They range from a variety of ability groups.
My students are extremely grateful for everything that is given to them, and they will use these resources to assist them in their success. The students in my class are amazing, sweet and kind. They amaze me on a daily basis with their eagerness to learn and grow. They are hardworking, motivated, and eager to learn.
The materials that I am requesting are chapter books that will assist my students in building their reading comprehension while learning about important events in history. History is not an important subject that is taught in elementary school anymore, which is a true tragedy.
These books will be used within my classroom library so that students can pick books that interest them, while teaching them about our history.
Some of the books that I am requesting are James and the Giant Peach, What was September 11th?, What was D-Day?, What was the Holocaust?, What was the Boston Tea Party, What was the Battle of Gettysburg? and many more interesting chapter books that will grab the reader's attention.
