This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 19 amazing scholars located in an economically disadvantaged area in Duncanville, Texas. We are a school of just under 340 students who are working hard during this pandemic to ensure our babies continue to learn. Our students come from many backgrounds and cultures. Some are soaring with distance learning and we have a small number that comes to class every day with masks and shields ready to learn. We are a school community that believes in family and that together, we can provide quality education and life skills that our students will need beyond the walls of our school.

My Project

These materials will provide my students a snack to eat. We are second graders who don't eat lunch until 12:40p.m. This is the LAST lunch served for the day. So after breakfast they have wait hours before they eat again. I would like them to have a working snack so they will have enough fuel to keep learning. However, many of my students are low income families so they don't have enough to send kids with snacks. I want to be able to provide for all my students so that they don't have to worry about having a snack in class.
