What Should I Do in Center-Time?

My Students

The students at our school are amazing! They come into the classroom excited to learn and become involved in whatever topic that is in the plan. We have wonderful support from our parents. We have a very diverse population of students, culturally, economically, and with different learning abilities. It has become my goal to try and stay ahead of them!

Our third grade team is challenging our students to work independently and take charge of their learning.

This is a learning concept in itself, and we are guiding them along the way.

Our students are working hard to create a solid base of education. They appreciate what they have now, and they are learning to use their knowledge to take control of their education. We love to see their excitement grow as they are introduced to new information.

My Project

These materials will help provide extra work in our classroom, and allow the students to work independently as they practice new skills.

Working in centers gives our students activities to work on while the teacher is busy working with small groups or 1-1 with someone who might be struggling.

Math task cards and reading passages are short, but emphasize the skills that we have done as a whole group. Many of the activities in our grade three centers have been used for several years and were handed down from previous teachers. It's time to freshen the centers and make them enticing for our students.
