My students need headphones to listen to books on tape and for reading programs on the computer. They need books, sight word cards, pencils and paper.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students amaze me everyday. They come to school eager to learn. Always start the morning by hearing, "Ms. Ruche can I read with a buddy?"
My first grade students are learning English as a second language.
My students or kids like I call them, came from many different countries with a big heart and ready to learn. Even though their English is not the best, that does not stop them from picking up a book. Our school is in a high poverty community. Their parents do their best to provide for them but sometimes it's not enough. My babies inspire me to come to work everyday with a grateful heart.
My Project
The materials being requested would make my student's day. They will love to listen to a book on tape and read a story to their friends. They will be able to learn their sight words and become better readers. They will use their number line and number chart mats to improve their math skills. Books would be arranged by levels in the shelf file box making it easier for them to choose an appropriate book. Classroom supplies such as, pencils, glue, paper, spelling word games, books and headphones would make a huge difference in their lives.
This donation will improve my classroom in many different ways.
It will help my classroom have more hands-on activities and be a better learning environment. My students will become more motivated and have fun listening to the books on tape. They would be grateful that they received these materials from someone willing to help them. Imagine the smile on their face when they see their new materials and know they get to keep it thanks to you.
