Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have students who can be empowered to learn about technology and conservation. I teach 6th grade students primarily in science and language arts. A great majority of our students are 2nd language learners and about 85% are on a free or reduced lunch program.

We use a lot of paper. In this tight economy it's difficult for us to keep making copies of papers that will end up on the floor, in the garbage or mysteriously disappear. So I'd like to conserve some energy and save some trees as well.

By utilizing a document camera, I will avoid making any unnecessary copies. I'd like to focus on various lessons that will enhance a student's learning in language arts, grammar and writing specifically. If I have a document camera, I can avoid making copies and show the students exactly what we're learning. This will also help students who really learn "visually." I also want to expose these students to all of the technology that is available. By providing them with a variety of learning experiences and incorporating different technological solutions, students become more engaged in learning.

You can help me save some trees and help students learn in a more technologically "green" environment. By supporting this project we can show our students that technology and conservation can go hand in hand.
