Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach special education biology and chemistry students. The majority of my students are low-income freshmen and sophomores who are very excited to learn about the human brain, the human body, and all that science has to offer. I am not sure who enjoys the Aha moments more—me or them!
My Project
I have taught my students about the brain and how it functions throughout our teen years for a long time now. I have never had a good model to show them. Nor have I had a good way to really show them how the human body works.
With these models, I can show my students how humans function!
This will be so exciting for them. They are always full of questions and I have to demonstrate by pointing to the parts on myself. Having a model they can touch and see in 3D will add to their learning and excitement!
