My Project
ELA 12 team is excited to bring two dramatic works to our students this year with A Raisin In The Sun followed by Clybourne Park. While each play is a commentary about time and place it also explores the impact of the home on families. Many of our students have seen gentrification and change in their own neighborhoods and we believe both of these works will open up new conversations and insight into the history of home for many families.
We believe that the works of Hansberry and Norris, while written many years apart both offer important perspectives on how different people experience movement, home, and family.
This project will provide a copy of each play to our students in ELA 12 which will be there to keep. They will read, annotate, and engage in new ways with the texts that they don't get to when it is a loner.
