My students need Spanish-English resources - 20 pocket-size dictionaries and an electronic speaking dictionary - to aid in language achievement.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Jones's classroom raised $329
This project is fully funded
Living in an urban environment and trying to acquire English language skills can be daunting for youngsters. My sixth graders are quite resilient and are eager to learn. More than half of these students are new English language learners.
My mental "supply" wish list is that each new English learner would have a translation dictionary in the quest to become self-reliant. Each year, I always have a stack ready to go. Alas, this year, they are gone. These dictionaries are a hot commodity in becoming independent! Time to replenish.
Spanish-English pocket size dictionaries can easily sit on the desktop for quick reference. Whereas an electronic speaking Spanish-English dictionary would be set up in a classroom resource center. This would be especially valuable for the shy students as they are not so likely to ask for help.
Please consider being a BILINGUAL ANGEL and helping to make this dream come true. You will make it possible for my Spanish speaking students to become more independent in their new journey. What a difference a WORD can make!
More than half of students from low‑income households
