What is a Refugee: Our Shared Humanity

Help me give my students books that help them understand what a refugee is through stories that ignite powerful conversations and an opening of their hearts to world events!

My Project

I am an incredibly lucky human to be able to guide a group of children day in and day out. I am incredibly inspired by the way they navigate their world with open hearts and a willing mind! With the world events happening surrounding what is happening in Ukraine and the history of human migration and immigration I would like to offer books to the children in our school to explore what it means to be a refugee and how the experiences of these humans all throughout time and place is really the story of our shared humanity. This topic perfectly aligns with our Montessori curriculum of Fundamental Needs and Peace Education.

Education is spiritual work and I aim to inspire my children to go on and transform the world, just like Maria Montessori did.
