This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Each classroom has a diverse mix of students. Some are ELL some are challenged, some are gifted. I am looking to capture each student's attention and give them a love of science through hands-on projects and literacy.
My Project
My students are ethnically and educationally diverse. Many are from economically challenged homes. They are all eager to learn and look to experience new activities and projects. We are in a title 1 school where the children are not exposed to many new things and experiences. I am hoping that though hands on projects that show results, the children will learn how to read to learn, follow step by step instructions, make educated guesses and write conclusions to projects. Usually, the children aren't bringing in materials and a kit like this would be a great help and experience for the children.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
