What Freedom Means to Me

My Students

The students selected are high achievers. They qualify for accelerated learning activities based on test scores and teacher recommendation. These students are part of the Accelerated Learning Club at our school. These students love to learn and be challenged in academics.

My Project

These books will bring American history to life for my students. The students will get to read about the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his family. I hope these books inspire the students to value the freedoms we have today. After learning about the life of Dr. King, students will have the opportunity to look at some of his famous quotes. Then, the students will each pick a quote from Dr. King, and write a speech about what that quote means to them. The students will perform their speech at an assembly in January.
