it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What does Music + Math = ? Please help my first graders learn math in a fun and meaningful way. We want to incorporate math-minded music with manipulatives to help make sense of math concepts. I want my students to become problem solvers, and I believe Music + Math can = to Success!
My first graders attend a Math and Science Magnet school.
My students love math and I need your help to make math concepts come alive for them. My class is very diverse with varying cultures being represented. Half of my students are English Language Learners and are also developing their English skills. I believe that music can especially help my English Language Learners as well as the rest of my class.
My Project
I am requesting Math CDs by Ron Brown of Intellitunes. He has developed songs that delve into math concepts in a child-friendly way. He incorporates important math concepts in a creative way. I am also requesting math manipulatives like dice, counters, and pattern blocks that are missing from my math arsenal. These manipulatives will help my students act out and visualize math concepts. Music and hands-on manipulatives will help me teach to the different learning styles of my students.
