This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Experts say telling time, date, and weather are fundamental skills that are taught early in education, contributing to overall cognitive development. Despite the importance of acquiring these skills, these are not easy concepts to learn as English language learners.
The calendar and weather pocket will allow students to practicate in an engaging way daily and also help students stay informed about current school schedules and events.
Writing on paper is considered important because it can enhance memory and learning through the physical act of writing. It also helps students to focus on tasks by reducing distractions associated with digital devices. Writing is one of the important components that English language learners should develop in order to improve their language skills.
Many of my school students come from low income families. Most often, students come to school without basic school supplies like notebooks and pencils. Providing these basic necessities is important because it helps students with the tools they need to achieve academic success.
