This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Have you ever tried carrying something heavy in an awkward bag or with no bag at all? Our students carry their Chromebooks to their lockers each day and we watch them struggle trying to balance everything they need to take home. Technology is expensive and our students are doing the best they can carrying their Chromebooks with their two hands, but we are afraid of their devices getting damaged or broken.

My school is transitioning to one to one devices starting in fourth grade, so our new fourth graders will be responsible for their own Chromebooks.

Our students are excited to have this responsibility, but nervous at the same time. They were given a Chromebook without a bag or case and have been carrying their Chromebooks with their two hands back and forth or in their backpacks, which are also filled with textbooks and their lunchboxes. This process isn't setting them up for success.

Our students need a laptop cases so that they can protect and preserve their technology. These cases will help make it easier for students to carry their Chromebooks, as they transition between classes because of the handles and pockets for their earbuds. Our students are expected to keep the same Chromebooks throughout all their elementary years and by providing them with carrying cases, this will help their technology last for a longer time. Thank you so much for helping to teach our students about responsibility and for giving them the chance to succeed with the proper tools!
