Tavares High School has 22 wonderful Varsity Cheerleaders for the 2017-2018 school year! It is a well rounded group of talented athletes. These girls are eager to lead the school and their community.
A large majority of the schools population is free and reduced lunch which can lead to many students not having the means to participate in certain athletic activities, such as cheerleading.
The squad is in need of a few items to make this cheerleading season as successful as possible without an extra financial burden on students and parents. We are in need of megaphones so that girls voices can be heard over the crowd and signs to motivate the crowd to cheer along. We would also like to have pink bows to wear in support of breast cancer awareness during the month of October.
My Project
Tavares High School has a large population of free and reduced lunch students, if it is difficult for them to afford lunch then it is probably difficult for them to afford extracurricular activities and athletics. This project will help take some of the financial burden off of student athletes.
These materials will help to raise spirit and enthusiasm at all home and away football games, as well as basketball games, pep rallies, and community events.
Our football stands are full every Friday night, the squad wants to be able to lead the crowd more effectively and by using the megaphones and signs, it will be easier for the crowd to cheer along with the cheerleaders.
We would like to have special pink bows to wear during the month of October to show our support of breast cancer awareness.
