Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Part 1 (Pom-pons)
We've got spirit, yes we do! We've got spirit how about you!
I teach at a school that desperately needs a positive outlet for its' students. To accommodate this need my school has decided to put some life back into our extracurricular activities. My school has gone without a pom-pon team for a number of years. I have a total 24 girls in grades 5-8 that need your help! We are in need of uniforms (POM-PONS) for games and competitions.
Many of our students have poor eating habits. As the coach of our pom-pon team, I plan to teach my team about the importance of eating healthy and maintaining a regular workout routine.
Being on a pom-pon team really made a difference in my life when I attended this same school. As a student, I was very shy but the pom-pon team provided a safe and nurturing environment that made me feel like I belonged. I am eager to provide the same type of safe haven for our current students.
