Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are competitive, enthusiastic, and eager to demonstrate their support for our school. All of our sixth grade students have the opportunity to participate in sports and compete against other elementary schools within our district. Many have limited to no experience as they come from hard working families that struggle to register their students in extracurricular activities including sports.

During football season, our most spirited Panthers join the Cheerleading Team!

For many of our cheerleaders and football players this is the only opportunity they have to participate in a sport without the financial burden. This year more than half of our sixth graders have joined either football or cheerleading! Our school encourages physical activity to promote a healthy lifestyle therefore this amount of participants is amazing. The involvement that our sixth graders are demonstrating is super exciting!

My Project

Our cheerleading team is currently preparing to cheer on our school's football team for our district wide tournament. We are in need of uniforms to show our school spirit and support our football players. Our school promotes cooperative learning and we encourage all students to be active participants in their learning. Therefore, ALL sixth grade students are encouraged and welcomed to join the cheer team.

Creating a sense of unity is one of the reasons our school focuses on cooperative learning and cheer uniforms will not only give our cheerleaders a boost of confidence but will create a sense of team unity.

Having these uniforms will bring our cheerleaders together while fostering teamwork. Cheer uniforms will help all of our cheerleaders feel included and connected to the team.

We want our cheerleaders to have the opportunity to be a part of a team without the financial burden. Many of our students expressed concerns in joining the cheer team because their families wouldn't be able to purchase uniforms or equipment. Your donation will provide an opportunity for students to have the experience of participating in a school sport.
