My Project
I teach music to 720 wonderful elementary-aged children. Music has always been my happy place and I love working with my students to help them find their passions and strengths in music.
All kids are musical.
Some love singing, some love to dance, and some love to play instruments. One thing my students absolutely love is the rhythm activities we do. The instruments we have to go a long way in strengthening that rhythm aspect of our instruction. Not only does it engage the students in the activity, but it also strengthens hand coordination as they transition to larger, more complicated instruments later in school.
To be successful and make those connections, students need to have quality instruments that make a quality sound. I would love for us to have these new drums so that students can explore new sounds and ways of playing as they progress from kindergarten through 5th grade and hopefully on to middle school music ensembles.
