My Students

My students know that you can make huge changes by taking baby steps. They also know the power of momentum. Get one person to make a change and pretty soon more will join until it goes viral. That's their plan for Disney's Planet Challenge.

My students believe that they can change the world -- and they are right.

The are energetic and look at the world through rose-colored glasses. They know that they can make a huge difference in their world. And they know how to do it. They believe that if they can get a few people to do the right thing, and they can publicize it, more and more will join creating an avalanche of good.

My Project

We are asking for an SLR digital camera. My students believe that their Disney Planet Challenge project should not just benefit them and their school community, but rather that it should impact the world. By making small changes (turning off the water when brushing your teeth or turning down the thermostat a few degrees), big, positive impacts can be seen. They want to design and pilot a program of small changes that anyone, any school, any community, any individual can follow. They want to use the power of crowds to make this happen. They have seen videos go viral. They have seen flash mobs appear. They know that the power of one is incredible. And they need a good, high quality camera so that they can professionally promote this project.

We only have one Earth-- and it is the one we borrow from our children.

We need to keep it healthy and happy. This can be done one small step at at time, one person at a time. These kids are just the ones to do it. We appreciate your support of us and of our program. We thank you.
