This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low socioeconomic school, I want my kids to have the same opportunities as any other student. Our district offers free breakfast for all students and the majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Regardless of what they leave at home, they walk through the school doors with smiles and enthusiasm to learn! I see the fire for learning in each and every student and I want to fuel that fire with fun new ways of learning.

My Project

We need new audio books and storage for our listening station. Students will be able to listen and follow along with books on their level to help them feel comfortable and confident in reading. This also reinforces optimal reading habits by staying on track and completing a book.

We have so many different reading levels in our classroom, that I would like to provide books on each level to choose from.

The storage unit for this station keeps the units together and helps students find books easier. Students being able to choose their book, not only helps peek their interests but also allows them to be responsible in their choices.
