My Students
My classroom is filled with students who are highly impacted with over 80% free and reduced lunch. Our school is classified as high poverty. Each day it's amazing to see their smiling faces especially on Mondays. They are really eager to read and share their reviews about books that they are exploring.
Even though students come from different backgrounds, they come to school ready and willing to learn.
I hope to be able to provide them with the best education I can. My ultimate goal is to take them to places that they have never been right in the classroom.
My Project
Each morning, we have a block of sustained silent reading. During this time, my kids love to curl up with a good book. Research has found that reading aloud helps a person to comprehend better while enjoying the book. Unfortunately, in a class of 22 students, we do not have the luxury of enjoying this moment without distracting others who are reading.
When using these phones, there is a direct path from voice to ear, allowing kids to hear the crisp diction and fluency of what they are reading.
This will give them the opportunity to develop independent reading skills.
