My students need balances, Science Specimens Sorting Center, and a Space Lander STEM Learning Lab to demonstrate their learning of the scientific method.
Tell me, I'll forget. Show me, I'll remember. Involve me, I'll understand.- Chinese proverb.
My students are the most inquiring first graders on planet Earth!
They love learning science. Most importantly they love doing science. My students attend a Title 1 school in Florida where science most of the time takes a back seat, but not in my classroom.
My Project
With these materials I am requesting my students will be able to demonstrate scientific concepts such as how gravity effects objects on Earth. I would also be able to set up centers in the classroom so students can use balances, parachutes, and other materials to explore in small groups on their own. These materials will help my students understand the scientific method. My students need balances, Science Specimens Sorting Center, and a Space Lander STEM Learning Lab to demonstrate their learning of the scientific method. They would be able to formulate questions and test their questions with the material in the classroom. A first grade classroom!
These items are essential to peak the curiosity of 6 year olds who love science.
Science is more than looking at other students in textbooks doing the experiments. Your donation will make a difference because it will provide materials that the students need to conduct their own experiments. Most importantly it will show my students that science is more about being hands on. This learning will indeed create little scientist that will grow up to become major contributors to the world.
