My Students

Do you have a favorite book? You know, the one that you read over and over again? Well for my kindergarten students, that book is Pete the Cat!

I have a classroom of 20 kindergarten students.

We are from a suburban Michigan town. My students come from homes where English is their second language. Many of them have not been to preschool, yet they don't let that hold them back. We are eager and ready to learn!

My Project

I started the school year purchasing this book after hearing of so many kindergarten teachers LOVING Pete in their classrooms. After that first reading....my students fell in love. They ask me to read our Pete books on a daily basis and now, they are the ones reading to me. I love how the author, Mr. Eric, created a fun, catchy tune to go along with the vibrant, intriguing illustrations. I would love to be able to present each one of my students with their own copy of this book on their last day of kindergarten. I want them to remember kindergarten and have them continue their love for learning.

With your generous donation, I will be able to pass on my love for reading.

I want my students to remember that reading is fun and it can take you places. Thank you for helping my students grow as learners. Your donation will allow me to present my students with this wonderful gift at their Kindergarten Graduation.
