My Project

My students are so excited to be reading the books selected for this year's Battle of the Books competition, but we don't have many copies! This project is for a class set of the tomes our school chose for grades 3-5.

Teachers will have their team, so do I want them to read them all?

Yes. I am looking forward to the challenge, and based on my class, I think the teachers will have a lot of work ahead!

I've already read The Candy Shop War by Brandon Mull, but the kids are so excited about Shannon Hales Princess Academy and Gordon Korman's Masterminds. I loved hearing the conversation a couple of students were having about Lois Lowery's Number the Stars: their level of understanding is exceptional. I'm hoping that this project will get more students reading and entering the Battle!
