My students need leveled books for our reading groups so that they can develop a love for reading.

My Students

I work at a fabulous school located in Norfolk, Va. It is a Title I school that offers students the ability to get ahead of their peers. My students are growing and learning just like I am as a teacher. We are a great team that is focused on what makes learning fun. My students are a gift each year and that's what makes school exciting! Giving the children all that they need is so important to their development. The resources that I'm asking for will further their education and experiences.

My Project

These leveled reading books will help my students as they are developing early literacy skills. Sight word practice and memorized reading are some ways to help in guiding the reading process. Guided reading groups, independent reading, and buddy reading are some ways that this resource will be used in my classroom.

Ultimately, the first little readers complete library will be useful during reading small groups.

It will also help by providing the students with an appropriate leveled book that I they would have easy access to.

Reading never starts too early for children. Funding this project will help my students grow into wonderful readers!
