My Project

My students live in a suburban area that is predominantly white, middle class, christians. I want them to find books that allow them to see different cultures, and perspectives, and times. I want them to connect with these characters that are experiencing life differently than they are, and learn more about themselves and the world around them.

I want them to improve their written and spoken language skills as well, by reading good books that familiarize them with beautiful language.

These books will be used during free read time in our classroom, and the students have the option of signing them out and taking them home as well.
