Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third grade math standards include counting money and making change. Students of today need to go beyond that. I want to help my students understand money and how to spend and save money for the future. The Exploring Economy Hands-On Activities, and the Quick-Pick Money Activity Cards will enable us to have a money center, that will help my students become Financially Literate.

I teach a wonderful class of 25 third-graders.

They are excited, energetic, and enthusiastic. My students love school, especially when they can do hands-on activities to enhance their learning! They do not have many opportunities for learning about money or finances at home (or at school) and I want to provide them with the opportunity to build their knowledge of money and finances.

My Project

Class sizes have increased, schedules have been filled with test prep and rigid math and reading programs. Third grade math standards include counting money and making change. Students of today need to go beyond that. I want to help my students understand money, how to spend and save money for the future. Having the requested hands-on activities will be a wonderful way for my students to begin learning and understanding the financial world. They are primarily English-Language learners, and hands-on activities are an ideal way for them to learn new concepts. These kits includes fun financial literacy activities for kids, including basic information about starting a business, earning money, spending it wisely, and saving and investing. Having these resources in the classroom will allow my students to go beyond the money basics, and begin learning about the financial world in the classroom.

The Exploring Economy and Quick-Pick Money Activity Kits in the classroom will help my students begin learning about finances and will help them become financially literate.

Thank you for your generosity and for supporting education!
