My Students
The students at our school are amazing! They come into the classroom excited to learn and become involved in whatever topic that is in the plan. We have wonderful support from our parents. We have a very diverse population of students: culturally, economically, and with different learning abilities. It's become my goal to try and stay ahead of them!
We have students working below grade level that are beginning to be readers.
We want to be able to help these students continue to enjoy reading.
Our students are mostly from homes with economic hardships. I would like to furnish the type of education for these students now so that they can expand their knowledge and love the sounds of putting words together.
My Project
We have some students that are becoming readers, and learning to love to read.
We would like to add some books (and their CDs) to our library that are written by Beverly Cleary, like Ramona Quimby, Age 8 and Henry Huggins, so they can read and hear how fun reading can be.
Adding other books like, How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell, and One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia will give our students a variety of books to read as they expand and explore their reading experiences.
Giving our students the ability to read is the same thing as giving our students an opportunity to experience the world!
