This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Let me win, but if I can not win let me be brave in the attempt"-Special Olympics motto. Our students are beginning their first endeavors of experiencing certain Special Olympics events. We have the usual sports equipment, but we are in need of bocce ball set and volleyballs in order to train.

Our students are low-income, multicultural students, with varied ages and disabilities.

We are nestled in an urban neighborhood school in Illinois. Our students are Hispanic and African-American. They are very driven to achieve in Special Olympics. Our students are so proud when they participate in Special Olympics.

My Project

We are asking for 3 sets of Bocce, plus 4 volleyball trainers for our students. Our students will be able to learn a new sport from another country and understand sportsmanship, competition, and teamwork. This sport can be played on any open green space and will help build hand and eye coordination. This sport is adaptable for all special needs students and adults.

By donating to this project our Special Olympic athletes will be able to participate in events that they were never allowed to participate in before.

This will help the athletes expand their horizons in different sporting activities.
