My Students

My students are eager to learn, but unfortunately, they do not have the full support to be able to thrive. They go through dramatic events both at home and school but they are special in their own way. My students are in an urban, city neighborhood. The school is a tier one school with a lot of the students having issues with their academics.

My Project

Since school closed in early 2020, my students haven’t gained the skills needed for 5th grade. I want to help them in various ways to improve their spelling because I can tell now by being back in the classroom that I need to find fun ways to engage them in spelling. I have also noticed that I need to help them improve with multiplication and division more because those skills aren’t as evident this particular school year. This project includes a new book for us to read in class and practice spelling. This project also helps my students with their math skills.
