Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 3rd grade. I teach two math/science classes to ESL students. All of my students are bilingual.
We are going "buggy" in 3rd grade. We love insects! My students are so curious about the world around them. I have a tank with tadpoles in it, and my students have learned so much about the life cycle of frogs. Next, we would like to study the life cycle of ladybugs and butterflies.
A ladybug kit and a painted lady butterfly kit will allow my class to watch two more life cycles firsthand. The life cycles will be a wonderful addition to our science curriculum. I will also be able to connect it to conservation. The books about ladybugs and butterflies will be a wonderful addition to our science library. I will be able to use the books during lessons, and students will be able to read the books during free time.
Your generous donation would mean a great deal to me and my students. We love science, especially "bugs!" We would be able to enjoy learning about life cycles as we gain knowledge about science and the world around us.
