Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need gathering drums so that they can feel a sense of togetherness during music class. The drums are large enough that multiple students can play on them at the same time while sitting on the floor. They are kid friendly, both in design and in durability, but are still an excellent and reputable music brand.

Students will feel a sense of accomplishment and pride when they will be able to play all together as one!

I plan to use my materials with my youngest students, primarily in Kindergarten, First and Second grade to begin music class, teach steady beat, and to incorporate different rhythmic patterns. Students will be able to play on the different sizes and discover the different sounds the drums make based on their size and older students can learn how to layer various rhythms using the 3 drums in small groups.
