My students are learning both English and Spanish in first grade which can make learning English sounds difficult at times. The phonics kit, magnetic tiles, games and flashcards I'm requesting will include phonics work with pictures to add to students vocabulary as well as keeping students engaged while learning new sounds.
Students love using hands-on materials to help bring their learning to life for them.
Students retain more when they are engaged, using their hands, and understanding the vocabulary that is being taught when learning letter sounds.
I have been focusing on teaching students how to read by sounding out words and it is crucial that I have the materials needed during small groups in order for students to be successful.
