My Students

In my classroom, it is my priority to build strong, trusting relationships with each one of my kiddos while guiding them to fulfill their full potential. As an educator, I aspire to create a classroom community that is respectful of all students, where each child feels unconditionally loved, cared for, and part of a family. I believe that students should be in a stimulating educational environment, where each child feels heard and part of our community.

As I prepare for hybrid learning, I want to make sure my students feel safe and welcomed in my classroom, so we can build a strong community together that celebrates curiosity, discovery, and creativity.

My school serves over 220 K-3rd graders. In the next few years, we will expand to 5th grade. I teach 26 first graders in my classroom from the San Diego area. As a first-grade teacher, I work tirelessly to embrace all learning styles and abilities to ensure the development of lifelong learning skills.

My Project

As my class prepares for hybrid learning, I want my students to feel excited, hopeful, and curious about in-person school! My students have been learning from home since March 2020, and I want to make sure that their transition back to school is full of exciting learning, fun games and activities, and safe, socially distance centers.

I envision our hybrid classroom day to be filled with opportunities for my students to engage with our curriculum that they have learned so far while also building peer-to-peer relationships that my students haven't had the opportunity to do this year due to distance learning.

I am excited for our class to come together and share a safe, welcoming space for the last few months of school. Literacy and math centers will be a huge part of my students learning, because they provide my kids the space to work together and play with our first-grade curriculum.
