My Students

My students in Hawaii are eager to learn and curious about the world around them. I teach at a Title I school, so at least half of our students receive government assistance.

Many of my students are lacking supplies to be successful during Blended Learning.

I've enjoyed finally meeting the students in-person and want to be able to assist them in any way possible.

As a math teacher, many of my students come to me with a negative attitude towards math, especially fractions. My goal is that when they leave me, they feel excited and confident to continue growing their knowledge of mathematics!

My Project

Due to social distancing, students are mostly working individually. Working in pairs and groups has proved to be quite difficult. So in order to work around the issues, students will be utilizing whiteboards and Expo pens to easily share information with their peers.

Instead of hand raising, it'll be a classroom full of whiteboards in the air.

I already created individualized whiteboards for the students to use, that's why I'm asking for so many dry erase markers. In addition, many students are lacking basic school supplies like pencils and ruled paper. I know being able to supply my students with basic supplies will help alleviate unnecessary stress during these times.
