Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are high-achieving students at a Title l school (100% free/reduced-price lunch) They are eager to learn and work hard. Many are second language learners. They want to show what they know and shine. Many students will show in the regional (SARSEF) and AZ state (AzSEF) science and engineering festivals. Some receive awards and recognition every year.

We are creative, hard-working, and energetic.

We have iPads, which we treat like our own babies. We depend upon the technology to help us put our best presentations to science and engineering competitions. My students have great ideas and will be future leaders in the community.

My Project

Graphs and charts make it easier for students to visualize their mathematical data. As student scientists, we need a new HP M452dn color printer for our science fair presentations. We need Post It grid chart paper for group and classroom activities. We will use the graph paper notebooks for our daily notes and work.

Colorful charts and graphs are a great way to quickly communicate mathematical concepts.

Help us become effective at communication and collaborating wih others. These are 21st century skills which will help us be successful scholars and citizens for the rest of our lives.

All of these materials will enable us to create plots, graphs and charts, and then analyze the data. The more interactive the students are with the data, the more they will learn and remember.
