My students need these headphones so they can completely interact with their Math and Reading programs on their Chromebooks.

My Students

My kids struggle at home and at school. They come to me from high poverty households and need a lot of attention and care. These kids work hard and want to do well in school. They just don't always have the tools. These kids are good, hard working kids who don't always have the best foundations. I want to give them the tools they need to level the playing field for them as much as I can. My kids CAN be successful... I just need a little help equipping them.

My Project

Our students are asked to bring earbuds to school as part of their supply list. Some do... some don't... most can't. For the ones who don't, we try to supply them with a good set of headphones. Unfortunately, the ones we have are old and break daily.

My kids will be able to use these headphones to hear when the computer reads them a passage, when they get the right answer to a Math question, and when they need to go back and try again.

My students use their Chromebooks throughout the day to work on various activities and assignments and 36 kids can get kind of loud. They may take a quiz or need to create a Google Slides presentation on cells. These headphones will make it possible for each child to be able to focus on his work without distractions from others. Also, our end of year testing will be on computers this year and I need my class to go ahead and get used to the headphones they'll be using. Some of my students get the "Read Aloud" option and I want them to be comfortable with their equipment.

Once upon a time, headphones weren't a necessity in schools. Those days are long gone and my kids need these headphones like they need pencils and glue.
