Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Wellness peers host "Wellness Wednesdays" activities in the main quad area. These activities focus on taking care of their mental health by learning coping strategies. Such activities are journaling, and the use of fidgets (stress balls, rings, etc.). Peers also offer opportunities for students to express themselves through "post-it" activities, etc. Being able to provide such resources helps de-stigmatize mental health.
Wellness Wednesdays in the main quad area is a great way to expose our student body to mental health resources.
This creates a positive, and inclusive culture on our school campus. It also makes it easier for students to openly talk and seek assistance with regard to their mental health.
