Wellness in the Classroom!

My students need wellness supplies! As they become young adults, their bodies begin to change. Not all my babies have someone at home to have necessary conversations with them about these changes.

My Students

My babies are some of the smartest, hardest working, mentally tough students in the city! In the heart of it, lies our small, but mighty school in its third year of turnaround. What that means for the students was new teachers, new administrators, new everything. But it also meant passionate, dedicated, hard-working, loving adults around every corner of the building. These adults have allowed our babies to grow and recognize their potential.

While my babies might not have much in the way of physical "stuff", they have perseverance and heart.

That is why they deserve to have the simple things needed for any school/classroom in America. I never want my students to have to worry about pencils or band-aids when they are trying to play catch up in terms of a massive achievement gap. That is why I take that weight on myself. They deserve the best. They are worth it!

My Project

I am so lucky to have students next year that I have already taught! Moving to 7th/8th grade is going to allow me to move on from relationship building to down and dirty learning! But that doesn't mean they have to BE dirty!

Many of my babies don't have the resources or knowledge to deal with their young bodies changing.

They are already accustomed to me helping and I would like to continue to be that person for them!

By helping me purchase deodorant, cleaning towels, tissues...etc my babies can feel clean and not be self conscious about how they look and smell and focus on learning!
