This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to build out the peace corner in our Wellness Center to be even more supportive to my students.

As part of this goal, I would like to purchase a nugget couch and liner so that students have a customizable space that they can modify to fit their needs at any given time.

Our peace corners are utilized for a variety of reasons including space to de-escalate and re-regulate when frustrated or upset about an incident, a calm and quiet place to read or rest when feeling unwell, and a space to reflect during challenging moments. Being able to customize the space to the need of each student will help them to feel more supported and allow the space to be more functional.
