My Project
As the new CTE teacher for welding, I require basic safety gear for my students to be successful in the classroom. Safety is the number one concern as students are welcomed to a new craft or trade, while they are not entirely mindful of the precautions that must exist for them to become welders.
Burning up with interest instead of actual flames is the goal for our welding class.
I want the students to take on a new skill, compete in state competitions, and take home unique quality work, but that can only happen if they are safe. Without these gloves, we cannot perform hands-on projects, we can only read and write about our experiences until we have met state standards of safety in the classroom. That is why this project is so crucial to our students. To spark an interest in welding, instead of filling a gap in their schedule with another class that is not hands-on.
