Welder's Paradise

My Students

A typical day in my classroom is very busy and productive.

Students love to learn and are eager to do hands-on activities in the classroom and the laboratory setting. "Opportunity is often missed because it is disguised as hard work."

My students are from a tight-knit, rural community who love to show their school spirit and attend many activities provided by our school. We have small classes, and students get along well with each other. Our school shows pride through the hallways and has good school spirit.

My Project

Materials we are requesting are a new auto darkening welding helmet, a couple pairs of gloves, and 60 pounds of welding rods for my freshman class to use when they begin arc welding.

Welding is a top trade career that students can make pretty decent money in, right out of high school or with minimal trade school time.

We will use the materials to give students more supplies to practice their skills. Freshman arc weld flat beads, butt welds, T welds, and lap welds in the laboratory setting at our high school. From there, they have the opportunity to make metal projects as sophomores and larger scale projects in ag mechanics.
