This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has worked so hard this past year in distance learning. Now that students are back to in-person learning, they deserve a welcoming space to help students get the most from what they are learning. The students at our school are kind, hard-working, and eager to learn.
My Project
This past year has been difficult for many students. Students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom and would benefit from social-emotional support. Despite the many challenges students may face, I strive to create a welcoming environment where my students are encouraged to reach their full potential. The items that I am requesting will enhance social-emotional growth in students and allow them to feel welcome. We will work with students in developing positive coping skills they can you both in and out of the classroom. I am asking for some furniture for my office to make it a cozy environment. Many of my students come from low income homes. Having a cozy space for counseling will make them feel more comfortable. I am also asking for supplies to incorporate into counseling sessions
