My Project

A warm, welcoming environment is essential for students to feel they have a safe and comfortable place to learn and grow. Many studies have shown that a positive learning environment, both physical and emotional, allow students to focus better, leading to being engaged and motivated in their learning. Your help of a new classroom rug and/or seat pockets would provide a positive, physical environment to promote student success.

Your donation of classroom rug would be an investment for another generation.

Not something to be used one time and thrown away. The current classroom rug has been loved by many students even those who have already graduated high school. It has provided a safe space for daily lessons, activities, and inside recesses, while holding up during harsh winters and at times, illnesses.

Additionally, a classroom set of seat pockets would also go a long way in helping this year’s students and many more years after. Seat pockets allow students to be organized by helping them with classroom procedures and expectations to gain necessary skills of independence and responsibility with their belongings and classroom materials. Furthermore, they help keep the top of their desk clear to work and inside more organized. The pocket would hold and secure technology and items that can easily get lost or broken from desk to floor.

First grade is a critical age for children in school. I feel my most important role is not only to teach foundational skills, but begin their love for learning. They still have at least eleven more years of their academic career after my classroom. Your donation of a classroom rug and seat pockets would help me create more life-long learners.
