My Project

This is my very first year teaching, the school building I will be teaching at is very old, and I would like to make the classroom as inviting and pleasant for the students as possible. I will teach first-year students, so I would love to create a space that makes the new high school students more comfortable. I graduated from the school that I will be teaching at so I have firsthand knowledge of what it is like to be a student at POHI. Some of the things on my list like the diffuser and decorations like the rug and tree, are things I hope to use to make my classroom a pleasant environment. Right now my classroom will not be a welcoming and comfortable space for my students but some of these items on this list can help me create that inviting, safe, space that a classroom should be. One of the impacts of Covid-19 in our community is that some families do not have as much money, so I would like to provide supplies for my students so that all students can engage in the classwork even if they cannot bring the items themselves. Some of the projects involved in the class I will be teaching will include presentations and group work, I think having a podium for the students to utilize will be beneficial for the students to present projects throughout the school year.
