This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Student autonomy and flexibility in how they learn is vital in a welcoming, effective learning space. Over the last couple of years during the pandemic, majority of students were expected to stay at their desks during majority of the school day. However, flexible seating is effective in helping students take charge of their learning and make seating choices that allow them find spaces in the classroom that works best for them.

Our students spend majority of the day in the classroom and I would like it to feel welcoming, but also a space where they can be productive in learning.

These rugs and flexible seating options will help my students feel comfortable in our classroom, as well as more willing to work around the room either independently or in small groups.
