This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is supporting a first year teacher and her amazing 2nd grade class. Many of my students are returning to this school year with little to no in-person schooling, and deserve every opportunity to be successful. Flexible seating is at the core of this project to help my students reach their goals and feel more comfortable as they adjust to their return back into my classroom. I have already purchased two seats and would love if all my students could have a wobble cushion of their own. I have also listed supplemental resources to help support students with foundational skills like letter recognition.
As a 2nd grade teacher, I want my students to build their stamina in learning and become responsible, collaborative students.
Wobble cushions provide sensory learning, maximizes learning time, and supports a social-emotional classroom that values the whole child. Wobble cushions create a direct line of focus for students, limits other distractions, and provides students with options. This 2nd grade class is highly motivated in their learning and would love nothing more than getting their hands on these.
