This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I will be introducing my fifth-grade students to the Renaissance and William Shakespeare's play: "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
My students thrive with hands-on learning.
I want to bring the Renaissance to life for them. We will tape the canvas boards to the bottom of the desks to recreate the painting the Sistine Chapel. We will carve the Ivory soap--similar to how Michelangelo carved the sculpture "David". Students will take turns taking pictures of themselves as the Mona Lisa--before drawing their own updated version of the famous painting.
The donkey hat and elf ears will be used when we act out scenes from "A Midsummer Night's Dream.
